Masrat discovered a window of opportunity when the entire world turned to online schooling. She had never imagined that a “simple idea” to reduce the influence of COVID-19 on children’s schooling would turn into a viable business venture for her.

The excellent feedback motivated her in expanding her customer base, and she currently has at least 80 teachers working with her, training approximately 300 children.

“It was the first wave of COVID-19 when the entire world was infected with the virus and no one dared to leave their homes.

Then it dawned on me that, with the exception of education, everything can be paid for,” she says.

While describing her journey, she expresses her sadness at the closure of schools around the world and her desire to do something to compensate for the loss. She explains, “That’s when the notion of smart class home tuition struck me.”

She began the endeavor with only three students in Srinagar without wasting any time. “After that, I started home tuition, and at first, I had three teachers visiting for home tuition,” she says, adding that “I started receiving more and more requests after receiving positive feedback.”
She felt compelled to recruit more teachers after receiving good feedback.

“I hired some excellent instructors from various parts of Srinagar and have been working relentlessly with them to compensate for the academic loss,” she says.

She has a Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology and has been educating children since she was in elementary school. “When I was in elementary school, I used to educate other children. I joined a couple of schools after graduation, “she explains.
The Lt. Governor, Manoj Sinha, commended her on the monthly “Awaam ki Awaaz” radio show, which is broadcast on Doordarshan Kashir and transmitted on all local and primary channels of All India Radio (AIR) in the Union Territory.

“I am thankful to the honorable Governor, who designated me as the youngest entrepreneur in the Valley.

He even felicitated me at SKICC by providing me with certificates of appreciation, “she says.

She advised the youth of the Valley not to run after government jobs and take advantage of different government schemes.

“I would like to caution youth against pursuing government positions.

There are many government schemes for people to establish businesses, such as the Mumkin and Mudra schemes, “she says.
