ACB produces Sub-Inspector for corrupt practices

Srinagar, Nov 5, KNT: Anti-Corruption Bureau produced chargesheet against Javeed Ahmad Shah, the then Sub-Inspector, Toll Post Lower Munda Qazigund, Excise & Taxation Department, in the Court of Special Judge Anti-Corruption, Pulwama.

The instant case was registered on the outcome of a verification conducted into the allegations that the accused while posted at Toll Post Qazigund, accumulated huge assets disproportionate to his known source of income by earning money through corrupt means.

Investigation conducted by ACB revealed that the public servant during his posting at Toll Post, Lower Munda, Qazigund, has made huge cash deposits in the name of his wife and himself to the tune of more than Rs. 30 lakhs during the year 2010-2011, which were found highly disproportionate to his known source of income and the money was later transferred to the account of his father-in-law and brother-in-law for concealing it from being detected.

The case has been listed for hearing on 13 December next month. (KNT)
